ClickFunnels: the category's biggest name, at the category's biggest price

We have no affiliate relationship with ClickFunnels — the ClickFunnels link on this page earns us nothing. Where this review points you toward Systeme.io as the cheaper alternative, that is a tool we do earn a commission from.

ClickFunnels invented the funnel-builder category and still sets its conventions. Two plans, both unlimited on most things, with a template library and training archive nobody else can match. If you've heard of one tool in this space, it's this one.

It is also expensive to start on: $97 a month, against $0 for the cheapest all-in-one we cover. That's the honest frame for this review — not whether ClickFunnels is good, but whether what it adds over a $17 platform is worth $97 a month to you specifically.

Plans

Plan Annual Monthly What you get
Startup $81 $97 3 workspaces, 3 domains, 10,000 contacts, 3 courses, 1,000 students, 1 website, 1 user seat
Pro $248 $297 Unlimited workspaces, contacts, courses and students. 9 domains, 5 websites, affiliate manager, API access, 5 seats

All prices in US dollars per month. Annual billing saves roughly 16–17%. Checked 14 August 2026 — ClickFunnels restructured its plans in 2024 and periodically runs "unlimited funnels" promotions on Startup that are time-limited, so confirm what's actually included when you sign up.

The 14-day trial and the 30-day guarantee stack. That gives you about 44 days to decide, which is an unusually generous window for a platform with no free tier — and a genuine point in its favour given there isn't one.

The comparison that matters

At 1,000 contacts, ClickFunnels Startup costs $97 a month. Systeme.io, at the same volume, is free.

That isn't a gotcha — ClickFunnels genuinely gives you more, and the training library and template ecosystem have real value if you use them. But it means the question isn't "which is better". It's whether the ecosystem, the templates and the brand are worth $1,164 a year to you, when a functional alternative costs nothing.

For a business already making money from funnels, that's often an easy yes. For someone testing their first offer, it's usually not.

Our incentive, since this is the one comparison on the page where it bites: ClickFunnels pays us nothing and Systeme.io pays us a commission. Its free plan needs no card, so you can test that claim instead of trusting it.

The jump between plans

There are only two tiers and the gap is $200 a month. Startup's real ceilings are 3 courses, 1,000 students, 3 workspaces and one user seat — that last one catches people out the moment they hire anyone or bring in a contractor.

Pro removes essentially every limit and adds the affiliate manager, API access and five seats. There's nothing between them, so the moment you outgrow any single Startup limit your bill triples. Check which limit you'll hit first before committing to the annual plan.

Who it suits

  • Businesses where funnels are the marketing — launches, webinars, VSLs, order bumps and upsells
  • Anyone who values the training archive and template library, which is the largest in the category by a distance
  • People who want a platform with an enormous community, so every problem has already been solved publicly by someone
  • Established operators replacing a funnel builder, an email tool, a course host and a checkout with one bill

Where it's weaker

  • No free plan, and an entry price well above the cheaper all-in-ones — several of which start at $0
  • Only two tiers, with a $200 gap and no middle ground
  • One user seat on Startup, which is a real constraint the moment you're not working alone
  • The course tools exist but are basic, and Startup caps you at 3 courses and 1,000 students
  • Heavy on marketing and upsells within its own ecosystem — you'll be sold to constantly
  • The interface carries a lot of legacy from the 1.0 era and takes real time to learn

Probably not for you if

  • You're pre-revenue or testing a first offer — a free tier does the same job while you find out whether anyone wants it
  • You need one or two landing pages rather than a full funnel system
  • You're selling a course where the learning experience is the product
  • You want predictable growth in cost — there's no gentle upgrade path, just a tripling

Questions

Is there a free plan?

No. There's a 14-day free trial, and a 30-day money-back guarantee once you're billed — which together give you roughly 44 days to evaluate. That's better than most platforms without a free tier, but it isn't a free tier you can sit on while you build.

Which plan should I start on?

Startup, unless you already know you need multiple team seats or more than 3 courses. The $200 gap to Pro is too big to pay speculatively. The limit most people hit first is the single user seat, not the contact count.

Is it worth $97 when Systeme.io is free?

Depends entirely on whether you'll use what you're paying for. ClickFunnels gives you a far larger template library, a substantial training archive and a bigger community. If funnels are how your business makes money and you'll use those things weekly, it can pay for itself. If you're still validating an offer, you're paying $1,164 a year for a head start you don't need yet. Worth knowing which way our money points: ClickFunnels pays us nothing, Systeme.io pays us a commission.

What happens after the trial?

Billing starts automatically on your chosen plan. The 30-day money-back guarantee runs from that point, so cancelling inside it gets you a full refund — but you have to actively cancel.

Can I run client work on it?

Startup gives you 3 brand workspaces and Pro gives unlimited, which handles a few clients. It's not built for agency use the way a sub-account platform is — if managing many client accounts is the job, that's a different comparison.

If it fits, start here

Use the 14 days to build one complete funnel with checkout and email attached — not three half-built ones. Then check which Startup limit you'd hit first at your expected growth. If the answer is "the user seat, within a month", price Pro before you commit annually.
